Brandon Jaffe

Click HERE to read the story from Local6.com.

A 16-year-old boy Central Florida was sentenced to five years in adult prison Friday after he was caught on a hidden home video sexually molesting two boys while he baby-sat the pair.

Flagler County detectives said the father of 2- and 4-year-old boys set up a camera and videotaped baby sitter Brandon Jaffe forcing the children to perform sex acts. On Friday, Jaffe took responsibility for his actions before his sentencing.

"It was my decision to manipulate you into doing those sexual acts," Jaffe said in court. "What I've done is horrible, and I can only imagine the hurt I've caused you."

Jaffe was videotaped with a look of shock and disbelief after learning his sentence. The 16-year-old has been under house arrest in the victims' neighborhood for the last seven months. The judge said Jaffe's crimes were far too heinous for him to be sentenced as a juvenile offender.

"No parent should have to go through this, and no parent should have to explain sexual things to a 2- or 4-year-old," the victim's father said. "This should not happen."

Jaffe turned 16 years old on Friday.

Terry McMaster, Karen Fathers and Edward Doyle

Tortured and killed an autistic man.

Click HERE for the story from OxfordMail.net.

A gang of killers have been jailed for life for the 'callous and cruel' torture and murder of a vulnerable man they mistakenly thought was a paedophile.

Edward Doyle, 34, was yesterday described as the prime mover in the killing of Sean Miles, a 37-year-old with autism, after a jury at Oxford Crown Court found him guilty of murder. Terry McMaster, 24, and Karen Fathers, 35, were also found guilty of murdering Mr Miles who was beaten, knifed in the head and then drowned in the Thames last May amid allegations he was a paedophile.

The jury had heard how the killers watched as Mr Miles floundered in the river. He was poked with a stick to stop him getting out before he drowned.

Co-defendant Tracey Fathers, 35, was set free after the jury found her not guilty of murder or manslaughter.

Sentencing all three to life, Judge Julian Hall said: "This was a particularly heartless and cruel murder. Your victim was extremely vulnerable with a very low IQ, autistic, disadvantaged and thought anyone who spoke to him was his friend."

Last May, Mr Miles was tricked by Karen Fathers into leaving his home at Herschel Crescent in Littlemore, Oxford, and subjected to a vicious assault by Doyle, Judge Hall said. Doyle beat Mr Miles with a golf club until it bent, fracturing his rib, and all three continued the humiliation and violence by stripping him naked and drowning him in the Thames, he added. Judge Hall said: "Each of you played a part in that. Not one of you lifted a finger to help him, nor did you summon help, nor did you report him missing. "Then you Doyle, in a characteristically devious way, tried to put the blame on others. I find you to be the prime mover in this murder. "McMaster and Fathers you were followers, but willing. "All of you suffer from the disadvantage of your low intellectual ability. I find there are aggravating factors in the violence and humiliation before the fatal act committed against a most vulnerable man."

Doyle, McMaster and Fathers - all from Alice Smith Square in Littlemore - must serve at least 17, 15 and 14 years in jail respectively.

After the verdict, Mr Miles's father Stanley described his son as a kind and gentle person. Stanley Miles said: "Sean was a kind, gentle, loving person who died violently. He would not knowingly have hurt anyone or anything. Life is so unfair. He was too trusting for this world. "We all miss him very much, and can only hope he's at least safe and happy where he is now."

Outside court, Det Sgt Tony Collingwood said: "Sean Miles's murder was clearly pre-planned and callous to the extreme. "He was lonely and craved friendship. Eddie Doyle, Terry McMaster and Karen Fathers abused that friendship and trust. "Sean's life reached a tragic end after several hours of abuse."

Tracey Fathers, also from Alice Smith Square, walked free from court into a waiting taxi, but did not want to comment. A spokesman for her said: "This is clearly the right result. She has nothing to say and would ask for her privacy to be respected as it has been a difficult time for her."

Neighbours of Edward Doyle were not surprised he was the driving force behind the horrific torture and murder of Sean Miles. They used the words "psychopath" and "monster" as they described a man who had made their lives hell in Littlemore. There was a sense of relief that Doyle had been caged for life, with a minimum sentence of 17 years. One neighbour in Alice Smith Square said: "He could be charming, but he was absolutely frightening as well. "I felt intimidated by Eddie. It was usually when he had had a drink - that's when it was worse and the music would be blaring in his flat late into the night."

Another 44-year-old neighbour said he had initially tried to make friends with Doyle, but quickly saw a darker side. He said: "Doyle was an alcoholic, a psychopath, a monster. He made my life hell. "I went round to his flat a couple of times and once he grabbed a baseball bat and a cricket bat and started swinging them around. "Eddie Doyle's behaviour was the most frightening thing I have experienced. I was scared. "Ever since he was arrested for this murder it has been brilliant down here, nice and quiet. "I wasn't surprised when I heard what he had done."

Karen and Tracey Fathers shared a house together around the corner from Doyle and next to their mother in Alice Smith Square. Margaret Turner, 49, who lived opposite Karen Fathers in Alice Smith Square, said: "Sometimes she could be nasty and sometimes we would get on all right. "I think it was disgusting what they did to Sean."

Another neighbour said: "They could have walked away at any time. How anyone could stand and watch that is beyond me."

Randell Poore

Click HERE for the story from KETV-TV.

A convicted sex offender in Lincoln stands charged of sexual assault and generating child pornography.

Police on Wednesday said Randell Poore, 36, lured two teenagers back to his apartment, where they said the assault took place. Police said three weeks ago, Poore stopped a 12-year-old girl near his home in northeast Lincoln. He had her pose and took pictures of her on his cell phone, according to the police chief.

"It's very frustrating to think we saw this coming. We tried to warn and alert people and apparently the efforts were unsucessful," said Lincoln Police Chief Tom Casady. "Asking her to take her picture, took her picture several times. Asked her to bend over and tie her shoe while he took her picture."

Casady said that girl was able get away and run home. Her parents called police when they discovered the man who stopped their daughter was a level 3 sex offender, Casady said.
"We arrested him, brought him down to the station, but the only thing we could find were elements of disturbing the peace," Casady said.

Poore was jailed but released. Police publicized the incident in the local media and Dawes Middle School, where the 12-year-old girl is a student, sent out a warning letter to parents. "I wondered if it was one of the individuals I had already told not to be in my yard," Lincoln parent Trish Eastman said.

Eastman lives in the neighborhood where Poore lives. She said word that the man mentioned in the school's letter may have struck again is disturbing. "It makes me nauseous," she said.

Abdul Reda Al Shawany

Click HERE to read the story from news.com.au.

An Iraqi Muslim man allegedly raped a Muslim woman as "punishment" for her reading the Bible. Campbelltown District Court in Sydney's west yesterday heard Abdul Reda Al Shawany twice sexually assaulted the woman, a practising Muslim, and then said to her: "Let your Jesus help you."

Al Shawany, 52, has plead not guilty to two counts of having sexual intercourse without consent between September 1 and 27, 2002, at a unit in Warwick Farm. At the first day of the week-long trial yesterday, Crown prosecutor Michael O'Brien outlined the case and told how the woman allegedly kept the clothes and underwear she was wearing on the day of the alleged rape in a plastic bag for about three years.

The woman initially reported the matter to police but did not want to take it further because she felt "ashamed", Mr O'Brien said. She later changed her mind and Al Shawany, of Hillsdale, was arrested in July 2005 and the woman provided police with the clothing. The Crown alleges swab samples from the accused had the same DNA as the semen sample taken from the woman's clothing.

"The complainant was born a Muslim and raised a Muslim and was a Muslim all her life," Mr O'Brien said. He said when the woman came to Australia from the Middle East she began listening to Christian teachers and reading the Bible. He said the woman - who wears the Muslim hijab - had received threats from members of her faith for reading the Bible but had not converted to Christianity.

It is alleged she met Al Shawany, who she had first met overseas, at Warwick Farm railway station in September 2002 after he told her he had some mail for her from overseas. Al Shawany allegedly then took her to a Warwick Farm unit and pushed her in the head as she entered.

"She was wearing a hijab. The accused grabbed the hijab, the veil, and pulled it tight across her mouth," Mr O'Brien told the court. "She fell to the floor and she couldn't scream because she had a hijab tight across her mouth." Al Shawany allegedly raped the woman and later allegedly said: "Let your Jesus help you."

In a police interview, Al Shawany denied having sexual intercourse with the woman or threatening her. Al Shawany's barrister Chris Pike told the court his client was a hardworking businessman with close ties to the community who strenuously denied the charges. "My client is not a zealot," Mr Pike said.

Seung Hui Cho

Click HERE for the story from ABC News.

Seung Hui Cho, a permanent resident of the United States, a Korean national and a Virginia Tech student has been identified as the gunman in the shootings that left 33 people dead on the Virginia Tech campus Monday, ABC News has learned.

The student left a "disturbing note" before killing two people in a dorm room, returning to his own room to re-arm and entering a classroom building on the other side of campus to continue his rampage, sources said.

Cho's identitiy has been confirmed with a positive fingerprint match on the guns used in the rampage and with immigration materials. It is believed that he was the shooter in both incidents yesterday. Sources say Cho was carrying a backpack that contained receipts for a March purchase of a Glock 9 mm pistol, sources said. Witnesses had also told authorities that the shooter was carrying a backpack. Sections of chain similar to those used to lock the main doors at Norris Hall, the site of the second shooting that left 31 dead, were found inside a Virginia Tech dormitory, sources confirmed to ABC News.

In all, the massacre at Virginia Tech left 33 people dead — including Cho himself — in the worst shooting in moder American history.

President Charles Steger told "Good Morning America's" Diane Sawyer that police were still investigating the possibility of a second shooter, and said authorities had already interviewed one "person of interest." "There may be others," said Steger, who will join the Virginia Tech chief of police at a press conference Tuesday morning. "We just don't know." Steger also said that authorities hoped to have ballistics evidence to release that would confirm a connection between the two shootings.

In a press conference Monday night, the university president, who continues to defend the way the school responded the dormitory shooting that began the day of campus bloodshed, gave a detailed timeline of the morning's tragic events. He said a 911 call reporting a shooting at a dormitory was made at approximately 7:15 a.m. While police were trying to assess what they first believed was a domestic dispute, they received a second 911 call, nearly two and a half hours later, that reported shootings on the opposite side of campus. According to the Virginia Tech Police Chief Wendell Flinchum, officials have not definitively linked the two shootings.

Two guns were recovered, a 9 mm pistol and a .22-caliber pistol.

Flinchum said they have ruled out the possibility of a murder-suicide in the shooting at West Ambler Johnston Hall. Ryan "Stack" Clark, a member of the school's marching band, the Marching Virginians, and a student resident assistant, was killed there by a shot in the neck. The second victim in the dorm shooting was a female.

Last night, investigators also had a preliminary identification of the shooter involved in the Norris Hall rampage.

When asked to describe the scene at Norris Hall, where the second shooting took place, Flinchum called it "one of the worst things I've seen in my life."

David Wright

Click HERE for the story from The Sun.

A paramedic stole bank cards from a heart attack victim, withdrawing £500. David Wright, 50, rifled through the dead man’s wallet after answering a 999 call, a court heard. He found a piece of paper with a PIN code and three cards. He was caught on a bank’s CCTV still wearing his uniform as he withdrew £500.

He spent it on food, a £200 MP3 player for his wife and £160 for a school trip.

Victim David Denbow, 65, had collapsed dying in his back garden in Sandiacre, Derbys, last June. Cops treated the death as a suspected murder after the theft was uncovered.
It was “devastating” for Mr Denbow’s family — who had to re-identify the body, Derby Crown Court heard. But Wright was traced to his work in Stapleford, Notts.

Prosecutor Steven Gosnell said: “Anyone who attends on the scene as a paramedic is to be trusted by society. This was a gross breach of trust.” Wright, of Ilkeston, Derbys, admitted theft and also pleaded guilty to stealing £40 from another patient in January 2005. He has been fired by East Midlands Ambulance Service. Judge Abbas Mithani bailed Wright but warned a jail term was “likely” when he is sentenced next month.

Jason David Ogier

Click HERE for the story from Stuff.co.nz.

A New Zealand-raised man has been convicted in Australia for sadistic abuse of his three-year-old son, including deliberately burning the boy's finger with a lighter and pulling his nail out with pliers.

Jason David Ogier, 37, was yesterday jailed for two years and seven months for repeatedly assaulting the boy.

Magistrate Elizabeth Hamilton said the man, a father of nine, had little empathy for his children and the offences were part of an "ongoing and entrenched form of behaviour". Ogier, from the Perth suburb of Welshpool, was sentenced in the Narrogin Magistrates Court, southeast of Perth, where he and his family previously lived.

Ogier's wife, Belinda Ogier, 43, of Guilford, was given a six-month suspended sentence for neglecting her son, by failing to protect him from his father, warn the authorities or seek medical help for his injuries. "The seriousness of the offences is in the gross breach of trust," Mrs Hamilton said during sentencing.

Ogier pleaded guilty in February to three counts of assault occasioning bodily harm, four of common assault and one of breach of protective bail conditions between October 2004 and December 2006. He had also admitted to stealing and possessing stolen property.

Ogier committed the worst offences in October 2004 while his wife was in hospital giving birth and he was entrusted with the care of their children. To discipline his son for not eating his dinner, Ogier rubbed chilli powder on his back, causing the skin to blister. He burned his son's hand with a cigarette lighter and when the finger became infected pulled the nail out with pliers, causing it to bleed. Ogier also kicked his son with steel-capped boots and slapped his head from side to side, asking his other children if they wanted to join his game of "tennis". When the three-year old had supposedly not finished his house chores, Ogier repeatedly beat him with a clenched fist, knocking him to the ground.

At no time did Ogier or his wife seek medical help for the boy.

Police prosecutor Sergeant David Murphy said Ogier had shown no remorse. "(They are) barbaric acts of cruelty perpetrated on his own child, a defenceless, three-year-old boy," Mr Murphy said.

Earlier, Mrs Hamilton had stood the matter down because the couple denied some charges against them in pre-sentence reports, although they later agreed with the police facts.
At the time of the offences, the Ogiers were on community orders for a 2005 assault on their 11-year-old son.

Travis Coleman

Click HERE to read the story from KETV-TV.

A Lincoln man with an extensive criminal record that includes sexual assault has been arrested on suspicion of rape. Lincoln police said Travis Coleman, 26, is under arrest on suspicion of first-degree sexual assault.

Investigators said Coleman was at a bar with two women when he allegedly dropped off one of the women at her home and then drove into a secluded area and raped the second woman.

Coleman was convicted of first-degree sexual assault and child abuse in the year 2000. He served over a year in prison.

Andre Cherima

Click HERE to read story from CBS4 TV.

An accused sexual predator police say committed lewd acts on several children remains behind bars in a South Florida jail. Judge Eugene J. Fierro waived the reading of three charges against Andre Cherima on Sunday and denied bond to the accused sexual predator.

Cherima was arrested on Saturday after police discovered him at 938 Northern Drive in Lake Park Florida. Police had been on an extensive search for Cherima since last Monday, when he allegedly committed ‘acts of a lascivious nature’ on 4 children in the area of Northwest 5th Avenue and Northwest 125th to 131st Streets.

Marcha Jarmane Smith

Click HERE for the story from KTHV TV.

A 19-year-old Pine Bluff man is in jail on charges accusing him of raping and battering his girlfriend's 2-year-old daughter.

Authorities say the toddler died in a hospital Monday, and a capital murder charge is likely to be filed against Marcha Jarmane Smith. The toddler was identified by Pine Bluff police as La'Niyah Beard. She was first taken by Smith to Jefferson Regional Medical Center in Pine Bluff on Sunday morning, and then transferred by air to Arkansas Children's Hospital at Little Rock. Ginger Daril, a spokeswoman for Children's Hospital, said the little girl was taken off life support and died Monday. Police and prosecutors said doctors at the Little Rock hospital said Beard had suffered severe trauma to her head and body, and there was evidence that she had been raped.

At a court hearing, Jefferson County Circuit Judge Jodi Dennis found probable cause to hold Smith on charges of rape and first-degree battery. According to Chief Deputy Prosecutor Kyle Hunter, Smith told police he had spanked the toddler because she wet her pants. He later said the girl fell and hit her head and stopped breathing when she ran from him while he was getting ready to give her a bath.

Tiffany Hall

Click HERE for the story from the USA Today.

A baby sitter clubbed a pregnant woman in the head repeatedly with a table leg, then cut her fetus from the womb in a bathtub where she later drowned the victim's three young children, an investigator testified Wednesday.

The grisly details in the September slayings of Jimella Tunstall and her family were revealed at a hearing where a coroner's jury, after a few minutes of deliberations, concluded the deaths were homicides. Tiffany Hall, 24, has been charged with first-degree murder and faces a possible death sentence in the death of Tunstall and with intentional homicide of an unborn child — Tunstall's 7-month-old fetus. She has pleaded not guilty and remains jailed on $5 million bond.

She has not been charged in the drownings of the children, ages 7, 2 and 1, although authorities have said she confessed and led them to the bodies. Prosecutor Robert Haida has said those deaths eventually will be presented to a grand jury for possible charges.

Illinois State Police investigator David Bivens told the coroner's jury that Hall "had been thinking about taking the baby for some time" from Tunstall before going through with it. Bivens said Hall confessed on videotape that she hit Tunstall twice over the head with a table leg in Hall's mother's East St. Louis house Sept. 15, then bound the woman's hands and feet with duct tape. When Tunstall tried to wriggle free, Bivens said, Hall hit her again and taped the woman's mouth shut before apparently dragging the unconscious woman to the bathtub. Hall used a scissor-like implement to cut open the woman's womb and remove the fetus, Bivens said. The coroner's jury ruled Tunstall bled to death.

The body of Tunstall was first hidden by Hall in a plastic container in the basement, then dragged outside into high weeds behind the house where it was found, Bivens said. Later that day, Bivens said, Hall summoned police to an East St. Louis park — just blocks from where Tunstall's body later was found — saying she had given birth to a stillborn child after she said she had been sexually attacked in St. Louis. At a hospital, Bivens said, Hall refused to let doctors examine her.

Tunstall's body had not been found by Sept. 18, when her children were last seen alive with Hall.
According to Bivens, Hall admitted she drowned 2-year-old Ivan Tunstall-Collins and 1-year-old Jinela Tunstall in the same bathtub where their mother had been slain, then found their 7-year-old brother, DeMond Tunstall.

"She told DeMond it was time to take a bath, and she drowned him, too," Bivens said.
During the baby's Sept. 21 funeral, Bivens testified, Hall confessed to her boyfriend that the baby wasn't his and that she had killed the mother to get it. The boyfriend notified police, who found Tunstall's body and arrested Hall.

The bodies of the children were found in the washer and dryer of Tunstall's apartment, after Hall reportedly directed police there. They had searched the apartment earlier but did not look in the washer and dryer.

A relative of Tunstall's told reporters through tears after Bivens' testimony that she feels sorry for Hall and does not believe the death penalty should be in play. "I just think she should be in prison the rest of her life to think about what she did," said Regina Kizer, a cousin of Tunstall's. "God's gonna have the upper hand."

Lorenzo Gilyard

Click HERE for the story from KMBC TV.

A judge sentenced a former trash company supervisor to life in prison without parole Friday for strangling six women in 1986 and 1987. The sentence was the only one possible after Lorenzo Gilyard, 56, was convicted last month of killing the women -- all but one a prostitute.

"He's forfeited any right to live here among the rest of us," Jackson County Judge John O'Malley said. "That's the comfort we can derive." O'Malley said there was a chance the women would have turned their lives around, "except he stole it from them."

Prosecutor Jim Kanatzar said the sentencing means that justice was finally brought in relation to the slayings. "I'd like to think that the citizens of Jackson County can sleep a little safer tonight knowing the person who is responsible for these deaths and murders is behind bars, and will be for the rest of his life," Kanatzar said.

Prosecutors agreed in January not to seek the death penalty against Gilyard, as long as Gilyard's attorneys agreed to a trial before a judge without a jury. His attorneys also agreed to give up nearly all of their client's appeal rights.

During the trial, O'Malley acquitted Gilyard of a seventh count of murder. Gilyard had faced 13 counts of murder, but six of those counts -- including one stemming from the death of an Austrian national -- were dropped as the trial got under way.

Kanatzar said his office is still reviewing the six dismissed cases to determine whether to refile them. "We'll probably make an announcement about that in the near future," he said.
Gilyard was linked to the killings in 2004 as police crime lab workers tested evidence from old unsolved cases. His trial got under way March 5, with prosecutors pursuing charges in what they considered the seven strongest cases. Those seven victims -- all but one a prostitute -- were killed in 1986 and 1987.

Family members of the victims spoke prior to Gilyard's sentencing. Tricia Mitchell, whose sister, Catherine Barry, was the only victim not a prostitute, wore her sister's favorite color, turquoise, and spoke about how her sister cared for her and her siblings growing up. "I was afraid of everything and she wasn't afraid of anything," Mitchell said, adding that she grieves that her daughters never got a chance to know their aunt. "Gilyard took that away from them and for that, I will never forgive him."

Much of the testimony during the trial dealt with DNA evidence. Prosecutors said Gilyard's semen was found on six of the women. The defense contended the evidence merely proved Gilyard had sex with the women - but not that he killed them.

The sole acquittal was for the killing of Angela Mayhew, 19, whose body was found on Sept. 12, 1987. Hers was the only body that didn't contain semen, though one of Gilyard's hairs was found on her sweater.

O'Malley said prosecutors had provided him with only suspicions that Gilyard killed Mayhew, not convincing proof.

Defense attorney Tom Jacquinot said Gilyard plans to file a notice of appeal challenging the judge's guilty finding on the grounds that the evidence was insufficient. "Mr. Gilyard to this day still maintains his innocence, though he certainly does empathize with the family," Jacquinot said.

Gilyard wore a blue sweater and tan pants during the sentencing, but had changed into an orange jail suit and shackles by the time deputies escorted him to the elevator to leave the courthouse.

Relatives of the victims watched smiling as he was led away.

Robert Snyder

Chess Teacher sexually molested three of his students. The charges were filed after the father of one of his students found Snyder and his son in the boy's room with a chair wedged against the shut door.

Click HERE for the story from the Denver Channel.com.

A chess teacher who pleaded guilty to sexually assaulting a child was sentenced Wednesday to two years in County Jail with 10 years to life of probation, the Larimer County District Attorney's office said.

Robert Snyder pleaded guilty to one count each of sexual assault on a child and unlawful sexual contact after being accused in 2005 of sexually assaulting three of his students. Snyder faced four counts of sexual assault on a child by a person in a position of trust and two counts of sexual assault on a child pattern of abuse. The abuses were alleged to have happened at his home in late 2002 and the summer of 2005.

The district attorney's office said that for the duration of his probation Snyder will be on a sexual intensive probation, which is meant to make sure he is always monitored and has no contact with children. Officials said once he is out of jail, he must register as a sex offender and must submit to genetic counseling. The DA's office said he must also write a letter of apology to the victim.

Snyder owned the Fort Collins-based Chess For Juniors that operated out of his home.
The recent charges weren't the first to surface regarding Snyder who moved to Colorado from California in 2000. In 1983, he was found not guilty on four counts of sexual assault a California student. A judge dismissed the fifth count against him, according to the Los Angeles Times. The charges were filed after the father of one of his students found Snyder and his son in the boy's room with a chair wedged against the shut door, the Times reported.

The not guilty verdicts came after a four-week trial and two hours of deliberation by the jury.
Snyder is the author of several chess books published by Random House, which includes the bestseller "Chess For Juniors," and has written articles for "Chess Life" and "School Mates" magazines, according to his Web site. The Web site also said that Snyder taught the game to students such as actor Will Smith, and the son of actor Nicholas Cage.

Timothy Michael Gaut

Click HERE for the story from the Tribune Chronicle.

A Hubbard man who has been accused of raping a 6-year-old girl on a live Internet broadcast complained Wednesday about his treatment in jail. Timothy Michael Gaut, who has a foot injury, is not allowed to use crutches, which could be used as weapons against corrections officers. Gaut complained that jailers and inmates have referred to him as the ‘‘Easter Bunny rapist’’ after seeing him hobbling around.

His attorney, Anthony Consoldane, said Gaut claims he heard voices in his head, that he can’t sleep at night and is on suicide watch inside the Trumbull County Jail. ‘‘I want him to be in a hospital,’’ Consoldane told Trumbull County Judge W. Wyatt McKay.

Gaut, 32, of Gary Drive, is due back in court May 2, after a psychological evaluation is completed. The evaluation is to offer opinions on the defendant’s competency and sanity. He has pleaded not guilty by reason of insanity.

Gaut was arrested Jan. 28 when police said he still was in the process of soliciting online a man who turned out to be an undercover federal agent posing as a man offering his young daughter — another federal agent — for sex. They settled on $250 for the sex.

Gaut also faces a federal indictment in U.S. District Court of Eastern District of Virginia for ‘‘coercion and enticement of a minor to engage in illegal sexual activity and distribution of child pornography’’ since the federal agents were working out of Fairfax, Va.

Locally, Gaut, a one-time electrician, faces nine counts of rape that carry potential life sentences. One of those alleged rapes occurred in January and, under new laws, carries a life sentence with parole eligibility after serving 15 rather than 10 years. Other rapes occurred as far back as the fall of 2003 when the girl was age 3, the indictment states. Besides another charge of gross sexual imposition and one for importuning, Gaut also faces nine other counts of pandering obscenity involving a minor — all occurring earlier this year.

It was Jan. 26 and continuing through Jan. 27 that the federal agents, posing as ‘‘Alyson’’ and her father, ‘‘Rich,’’ communicated with Gaut in an online chat room and later by telephone, the indictments state.Rich told Gaut of his 11-year-old daughter, describing her as sexually experienced. Gaut inquired as to how much it would cost to have sex with her and elaborated on what types of sex he likes.

The indictments claim that Gaut offered to buy gifts for Alyson and described his own private parts before sending the live video of what police said was a rape. The federal officers immediately contacted Hubbard police after viewing the video and the local officers got the search warrant to ensure the safety of the victim, the indictment states. Police said the victim is now in the custody of Children Services.

Ronald Jones

Repeatedly raped a 13-year-old girl placed in his family's home for foster care. His mother threatened to kick her out if the girl reported the incidents.

Click HERE to read the story from the New York Post.

A 13-year-old Brooklyn girl was placed in a hellish foster home where she was repeatedly raped by the family's teenage son, authorities said. The girl claims her foster mom told her "keep your mouth shut or I won't adopt you," and intimated that the child had provoked the assault.

Ronald Jones, 18, first raped the victim in October, and the attacks continued until February, police said.

On March 5, the girl reported the attacks to Concord Family Services.

Jones was busted April 7 on charges of rape, sexual misconduct and sexual abuse. Authorities are investigating his mother, too.

Victor Caraballo, Hector Caraballo, Joel Lebron, Cesar Mena and Jesus Roman

Five men who kidnapped and robbed an 18 year-old couple, raped and killed the girl, tried to stab the guy to death.

Click HERE to read the story from the Miami Herald.

Nelson Portobanco didn't see the men raping his girlfriend, but he heard them take turns with her for 15 or maybe 20 minutes as they sped on Interstate 95 in an extended-cab pickup truck.

Portobanco choked back tears Monday as he described for a Miami-Dade Circuit Court jury what he remembered of that awful night, April 27, 2002. ''She asked them not to. She was crying,'' he said.

Jurors shook their heads, and one seemed close to tears listening to Portobanco struggle to describe what happened to him and what he heard happening to his girlfriend, Ana Maria Angel.

They were both 18 years old, high school seniors, out for a romantic dinner in Miami and a walk on South Beach. When they headed back to his car, five men jumped them, pushing them into the pickup. One had a gun. Another had a knife. They told Portobanco to put his head on his knees. He said he couldn't identify the man on trial, Victor Caraballo. ''I couldn't see any of them,'' he told the jury. He described how he heard them demand Angel's bank card and her PIN and how they used it to get gas and money before they got on I-95. After the prolonged rape, the men pulled over by the side of the highway and pushed Portobanco out, but they weren't done with him.

With seagrape bushes shielding them from passing cars on the highway, they stabbed Portobanco over and over again, 10 or 11 times, he thought. Finally, he decided to play dead so maybe they would stop. They kicked him a few times and stomped on his head, and then they drove away.

Angel was still in the truck.

''I ran towards the highway and I tried to wave somebody down to help me,'' Portobanco said. ``It was hard for me to breathe.'' He had a cut artery and was bleeding from his neck and back.

It didn't take long for someone to stop.

''The first thing I told him was that my girlfriend and I had been kidnapped and they still had her and the truck was up the road,'' he said.

Portobanco was taken to a hospital, where he told police the same story. It sounded too awful to be true. ''I was skeptical at first, but after I heard him, I realized it was very serious,'' said Miami Beach Detective Larry Marrero.

At that point, police began searching for Angel.

Angel's mother, Margarita Osorio, also went to the hospital and spoke with Portobanco.
''He had cuts all over his face and neck. He was extremely nervous, crying,'' she told the jury. "He asked for my forgiveness.'' She said that she and Portobanco's mother each called Angel's cellphone, leaving messages they hoped the kidnappers would hear. ''I said I would fulfill any requirement from them but not to hurt her,'' testified Osorio, who is from Medellín, Colombia.

At that point, no one knew that Angel was already dead by the side of the highway.

''We know she was forced to get down on her knees and we know that she had her hands clasped like this,'' Assistant State Attorney Laura Adams said, her own hands folded as if in prayer.
Angel was found in that position with a gunshot wound to the back of her head.

Police say they have DNA evidence that ties Caraballo to the crime, and Caraballo has confessed three times. He gave a statement to detectives the day he was arrested in Orlando, the day after the kidnapping, rape and homicide. He also wrote a letter to Assistant State Attorney Abe Laeser explaining that he didn't think he should be charged with rape because he only masturbated on Angel. He said he feared that he might get AIDS if he raped her because his brother had already raped her and he knew his brother had AIDS. Caraballo also gave an interview to a Spanish-language television station, making the same claims.

Investigators say Caraballo was not the ringleader, but he is the first of the five men, all from Orlando, to go on trial. If he is convicted, he is facing the death penalty. His attorney, Gary Rosenberg, gave only a brief opening statement Monday. ''We need to get past the horrible acts that happened to Miss Angel and we need to look at the evidence of who committed these crimes,'' Rosenberg said. His defense: "Victor Caraballo never touched a gun, never had a knife.''

The prosecutors have charged Caraballo under the felony murder statute, which holds everyone who commits a crime together responsible if someone is killed during that crime. The other accused men are Hector Caraballo, Joel Lebron, Cesar Mena and Jesus Roman.

Rodney Nickerson

A Las Vegas man is under arrest accused of sexually assaulting his mentally challenged sister and attempting to offer her for sex out on the internet. 34-year-old Rodney Nickerson is being held on $800,000 bail.

According to a police report, Nickerson admitted to putting a photo of his 36-year-old sister on craigslist website. The ad featuring his sister apparently asked men if they wanted to have sex with her. The report states Nickerson also fondled his sister and had another man touch her as well. Nickerson's mother told New's 3 her son has always taken care of his sister since they were little .

"I know my son didn't do what they said he did," Deborah Nickerson told News 3. "My son also stuck up for her, (has) taken care of her. He's never bothered her sexually."

Police say they received a tip about the craigslist ad around mid-March. An undercover officer tried to arrange a meeting with Nickerson twice, but Nickerson never showed up.

Victor Lesley Urquhart and Robbie Sebastian Wheeler

A fourteen-year-old boy was kidnapped and held for three weeks while the HIV-positive Urquhart and his gay lover repeatedly sexually molested the teen.

Update: More information HERE in this story, courtesy of the West Australian.

A teenage kidnap victim — chained to a bed by his captors — initially refused food and drink in case they were drugged and only had some water when he was allowed a shower three days into what became a threeweek ordeal as a sex slave to two paedophiles. “I was not going to eat unless I was very hungry in case they drugged it. They are bad people and that is what bad people do,” the boy said as some of the shocking details of his story were revealed to a District Court jury yesterday.

The boy also described how one morning he got up, grabbed his bag and intended to try to go to school — but the two men blocked his path. “I gave them a bit of a snigger — a ‘you f . . . . . .bastard’ kind of look,” he said.

The boy, who cannot be identified for legal reasons, was snatched off a busy Perth street in 2005 by 46-yearold Victor Lesley Urquhart and 43-year-old Robbie Sebastian Wheeler. It was 20 days before he was rescued by police.

After his rescue he spent many hours with detectives and slowly started to talk about how he was tortured, abused and sexually assaulted. The video recordings of those interviews have been played to the jury over the past two days. Wheeler has pleaded guilty to 21 charges and Urquhart to 13 charges covering kidnap, indecently dealing with the boy and sexually penetrating him — but they have gone to trial on a charge of conspiring together to wilfully murder the teenager.

The boy said he was wagging school and walking along a busy street when two men suddenly grabbed him and dragged him into their home. He said Urquhart used the name Wayne and Wheeler used the name Ryan during the 20 days he was held.

“They dragged me through the bedroom door and Ryan slammed me on the bed,” the boy said.
“Ryan was holding me down. Wayne was fumbling around in the drawers getting the cuffs out. Even on the smallest setting I could still slip my hands out of it. “They put them on my legs instead. He put one around my foot and the other end around one of the posts on the end of the bed. Wayne went to get some rope and he lifted my arm up and tied it up. He did the same with the other arm.

“I was complaining so bad he loosened it for me so I would not scream. It was the only nice thing he did in the time I was there.

“Wayne put a hanky in my mouth. Before I could spit it out I had gaffer tape slammed over my mouth and stuck down.” The boy added: “They left the room for about 15 minutes and came back in and put a gay porno on. They stabbed speed into their arms and smoked marijuana.
“Wayne sat next to me on the bed and started jerking off. The other one brought in a couple of drinks. He sat down on the other side of me and started jerking off. I just sat watching, pretty scared. I was just looking around the room trying to think if there was a way out of what I was in. “Every time I tried to go to sleep they gave me a slap across the face so I just stayed awake all night. They jabbed themselves with the needle about three more times that night. They watched porn all night.”

The boy said he could not remember everything that happened each day but the two men used sex toys and other objects when they lay on the bed with him. He recalled how he was forced to use some of the objects and how it hurt. “Ryan handed them to me and said, ‘Use these or I’ll f . . . . . . rearrange your face, you little turd’,” the boy said. “They were sitting and watching with an excited look on their face.”

The boy said that because the house had an outside toilet he was forced to use a bucket or a cordial bottle as his toilet. He was allowed to have a shower on about the third day and a bath about three days before “the end of my stay”.

Marco Allen Chapman

Brutally stabbed a whole family, killing the two youngest children, after which he rapes their mother.

Click HERE to read the story from the Charleston Daily Mail.

Marco Allen Chapman wants to die by lethal injection after admitting he brutally killed two children and left their sister and mother for dead. Now, the Kentucky Supreme Court is set to hear arguments on the legality of Chapman's request.

The case is unprecedented in Kentucky - posing the question of whether a defendant can waive all his rights and request an execution. It also has the unusual twist of putting prosecutors and Chapman on the same side - arguing for the death sentence to be upheld, while Chapman's court-appointed defense attorneys seeking to save Chapman from committing what they call "suicide by court.''

"This is a defense lawyer's worst nightmare,'' said Michael Mello, a University of Vermont law professor and former lawyer for death row inmates in Florida.

The Kentucky Supreme Court set for oral arguments in the automatic appeal on April 12. Chapman, who has declined multiple interview requests, pleaded guilty in December 2004 to killing 7-year old Chelbi Sharon and 6-year old Cody Sharon in their home in the northern Kentucky community of Warsaw. Chapman also admitted attacking 10-year-old Courtney Sharon, who played dead after being stabbed several times, then raping and trying to kill their mother, Carolyn Marksberry, during the August 2002 assault. A judge granted his request to be sentenced to death.

Prosecutors say Chapman's attack was revenge for Marksberry advising a friend to end a relationship with Chapman. Immediately after the attacks, Chapman burglarized the home and fled to West Virginia, where he was arrested later that day.

Volunteering for a death sentence is not new. Since 1977, when Gary Mark Gilmore waived his appeals and stepped before a firing squad in Utah, 124 inmates in 26 of the 38 states with a death penalty law have waived appeals and asked to die. Nevada has had a dozen executions in that time, with 10 of them being inmates who volunteered. Texas, with 26 people volunteering, leads the nation in inmates giving up the fight against a death sentence, according to the Death Penalty Information Center in Washington, D.C.

One of the two people executed in Kentucky since 1976 - Eddie Lee Harper - waived the remainder of his appeals and was executed in 1999.

A second Kentucky Death Row inmate, Shawn Windsor, is attempting the same thing as Chapman. Windsor pleaded guilty in 2006 to killing his wife and son and asked for execution. He is on Kentucky's Death Row, but Chapman's case is further along in the automatic appeals process granted in all death penalty cases.

What makes Chapman's case groundbreaking, lawyers said, was his decision to waive trial, sentencing by a jury, and nearly beg to be sentenced to death. Professors who teach criminal law have found Chapman's case - and it's potential implications for future defendants - disturbing.

Michael Hoffheimer, a criminal law professor at the University of Mississippi, said a ruling giving deference to a client's decision to seek a death sentence could be troubling because it would take away multiple legal safeguards to ensure that a competent, guilty person is put to death. Without those safeguards, there's a chance someone who is not guilty, but suicidal, could be executed, Hoffheimer said.

"Permitting defendants to make decisions that increase the risk of wrongful convictions is bad policy,'' Hoffheimer said. "The rights to life and liberty are unalienable. They should be accorded greater weight than the right to control one's legal defense.''

Judy Fairbanks

Leaves her disabled husband in a car in 28-degree weather while she goes into a casino. Thoughtfully puts a sign on the window asking people not to call security.

Click HERE to read the story from KETV.com.

A Nebraska woman was told on Monday that she could be sentenced to 10 years in jail on charges that she left her disabled husband in the car in sub-freezing temperatures outside an Iowa casino.

Authorities said Judy Fairbanks, of Bellevue, Neb., is charged with neglect of a dependent person after she allegedly left her husband, Charles, in a car outside the Horseshoe Casino over the weekend. Council Bluffs police said Fairbanks taped a sign to the window indicating her husband had a disability, he was resting and security should not be contacted.

Security guards for the casino found Charles Fairbanks in the car. Officials said they later found Fairbanks inside the casino gambling. She was arrested.

"This is the first time I've been made aware of this type of such a situation being unattended," said Pottawattamie County Attorney Matt Wilber.

Police estimated that her husband had been left in the vehicle in a parking garage for about an hour before he was discovered. The temperature was about 28 degrees at the time.

"It's something we're taking very seriously," Wilber said. "It'd really be little different than having an infant left unattended in a parking garage, in terms of being able to look after himself, to care for himself." Wilber said Charles Fairbanks has suffered multiple strokes, has dementia and Alzheimer's disease. The man can't speak or move on his own. He was taken to a hospital. Officials said he wasn't injured during his time in the freezing car.

Police said a similar incident happened with Judy Fairbanks at the Horseshoe Casino in March, but officers weren't called out to the casino. Wilber said officers get called all the time for people leaving children in their cars while they go to gamble.

Lisa Gonzales

Mother advertised on her MySpace page that she would pay a bounty of five-hundred dollars for someone to kidnap her son from his father and bring the child to her.

Click HERE to read the story from My San Antonio.com.

Vernardo "Ben" Morales is happy to have his son, Junior, in his arms. The 2-year-old boy was kidnapped from his home Sunday night by strangers at the request of his mother.

"In her MySpace page, she advertised to them she was willing to pay $500 for anyone who could help her get her son back," said Bexar County Sheriff's Department Sgt. Russel McHorter. The mother, 20-year-old Lisa Gonzales, was arrested and is in jail.

"Lisa had to pay somebody to get somebody to come over here," Morales said.

According to a warrant, two people responded to the offer. On Saturday, Gonzales met with 20-year-old Reynaldo Galvan and 27-year-old Rosita Yanez at a Peter Piper Pizza in the 8200 block of Marbach Road.

The warrant says Galvan and Yanez went to a home in the 15000 block of Old Rosa Trail Saturday night and grabbed the child.

"Gonzales kept texting my sister weird things like, 'Where's Benny? Who's he with? Who is there at the house?' " Morales said.

Gonzales was desperate, investigators said. She had custody of a younger son she had with Morales, but she wanted custody of Junior, too.

Galvan and Yanez went into the unlocked house and took the boy. Another boy in the house alerted Morales who tried to chase after the kidnappers. Galvan fended off Morales with a bat and got away with the boy. The pair handed over the uninjured child to Gonzales at theTally Mart in the 6600 block of Old Tally Road.

On Sunday, police arrested Gonzales, Galvan, Yanez and Gonzales' aunt, 35-year-old Jeannette Noah. All four have been charged with agreement to abduct from custody. The child is back with the Morales.

Morales said Gonzales should never have put their child in danger. "When [Junior] was in the car, he was screaming his head off. And I was in a state of mind, 'I'm going to hurt somebody, that's my boy,' " Morales said.

Morales plans to go to court to gain custody of both children.

A man who stored child pornography on his cell phone faces five to 20 years in federal prison.

Kenneth Patrick Jeffries II, 23, of Sharpsville, pleaded guilty to the child porn charge on Friday before a federal judge in Pittsburgh. Jeffries was charged after he lost his cell phone at a rib cook-off in Niles, Ohio, last July. The people who found the phone turned it on to try to locate Jeffries and discovered the images, which they reported to police.

Authorities said they found 168 images of nude children and adults on the phone. Jeffries confessed to making some of the images, and to storing others, authorities said.

Jeffries will be sentenced July 9.

Darren Rose

Rapes a toddler after attempting to rape a 31 year-old woman who fought him off.

Click HERE to read the story from the South Wales Argus.

A "monster" carried out a sickening New Year's Day sex attack on a young girl just hours after another serious sex assault on a woman in the same Gwent town.

At Cardiff Crown Court today, Darren Rose, 21, of Duke Street, Abertillery, admitted committing the offences on a girl aged under six and on a 31-year-old woman.

Outside the court, the grandfather of the little girl branded Rose "a monster". He told the Argus: "It was an horrific attack on my granddaughter which has caused such pain and distress to her and to my family. "I hope they bang him up and throw away the key when he is sentenced." He said, "It has been horrendous ordeal for us all. We are hoping that because of her young age, she will be able to get over it."

But the grandfather said the attack had had a devastating effect on her: "She's very different to how she was. She has become withdrawn and she always used to come running to me. Now she won't do that. Sometimes, out of the blue, she will start talking about what happened to her. She has also been taking medication to sleep at night since it happened."

On New Year's Eve, the day before abusing the little girl, Rose pounced on a woman as she made her way home in the town during an early evening attack. A manhunt was launched and police issued an efit and an appeal for information was published in the Argus. They said the woman's ordeal could have been far worse had she not bravely fought back against her assailant by clawing at his face which forced him to flee. As a result of the woman fighting back Rose had scratch marks on his nose, cheek and forehead which were visible when he appeared in court just days later after his arrest for the attack on the little girl.

Rose pleaded guilty to sexually assaulting the girl by penetration and sexual assault on the woman.

Dennis Perrault

Cut a 7-week-old kitten's genitals off with a pair of scissors - without anesthesia.

Click HERE for the story from CBC News.

A Halifax man who cut off a kitten's genitals with a pair of scissors has been sentenced to house arrest for three months by a judge who noted his problems with post-traumatic stress disorder and pain medication.

Dennis Perrault was sentenced Friday in Halifax provincial court. He had pleaded guilty to two counts of animal cruelty.

The court heard Perrault left the navy after cleaning up human remains following the 1998 crash of SwissAir Flight 111 off Peggy's Cove. Judge Anne Derrick told Perrault that his actions were serious enough to warrant jail time, but she didn't believe that was the best sentence for him. The judge said she recognized that Perrault suffers from post-traumatic stress disorder.

"I think she rightly determined this had to be a factor," defence lawyer Peter Mancini told reporters outside the courtroom. "When you take this in combination with the fact that he was on a tremendous amount of pain medication following injuries sustained in a robbery, I suspect he just didn't have that normal fuse that most of us have to deal with stressful situations and he acted improperly."

Craig Dodd / Ryan Palin

Two teenagers in England who repeatedly bullied a homeless man - pouring food and drinks on him, daubing his face with ink and make-up, burning his hair and urinating on him. After their final, fatal beating of the man, they threw him into a river to die.

Click HERE to read the story from BBC News.

A pair of teenagers who repeatedly bullied and attacked a vulnerable man, before beating and tossing him into a river, have been jailed for life.

Craig Dodd, 17, and Ryan Palin, 15, pleaded guilty to the manslaughter of David Atherton, 40, who died last May.

Warrington Crown Court heard that Mr Atherton, who had learning difficulties and suffered alcoholism, was subjected to regular abuse by the pair. The court heard Dodd and Palin described as "feral, wild and untamed". Reporting restrictions, which would usually prevent the boys' names being published, were lifted by the judge.
Dodd and Palin were part of a teenage gang who preyed on vulnerable adults in Warrington, the court heard.

Mr Atherton, originally from Wigan, Greater Manchester, was forced into letting the gang use his flat to drink and smoke cannabis. The teenagers subjected him to regular abuse and humiliation, which they called "terroring". This included pouring drinks and food on to him, daubing his face with ink and make-up, burning his hair, urinating on him and vandalising his flat. It also included regular beatings.

Patrick Harrington QC, prosecuting, said: "The two defendants, often with others, were involved in a campaign of terror and violence directed at David Atherton. "Ultimately - and almost inevitably - the result was that the two defendants killed Mr Atherton by beating him savagely and throwing him into the River Mersey."
Mr Harrington described the lives of the two teenagers as "appalling". He added: "If one were to search for a single adjective to describe their behaviour, it would be feral. They were wild and untamed."

The boys had been drinking and smoking cannabis when they visited Mr Atherton's flat in Howley, Warrington, on 8 May last year. A neighbour heard them beating Mr Atherton, and invited him in, but he was led away by Dodd and Palin.

They later boasted to friends that they "winged him into the water", meaning they each held a leg and an arm then tossed him in.

Mr Justice Hodge sentenced Dodd and Palin to detention for life. He told them: "Your conduct was reprehensible. You both treated Mr Atherton as a punch bag. "What you did was not opportunistic. It was pre-meditated. "It was a savage attack - cruel, brutal and vicious and on a very vulnerable man."

James Patrick Roughan / Christopher Clark Jones

Stabbed an Australian teenager 133 times. Used his head as a bowling ball and a puppet.

Click HERE to read the story from Adelaide Now.

James Patrick Roughan, 27, and Christopher Clark Jones, 23, of Sandgate, north of Brisbane, have pleaded not guilty to murdering 17-year-old Morgan Jay Shepherd on March 29, 2005. Both have pleaded guilty to being an accessary after the fact and interfering with a corpse.

The jury in the Supreme Court in Brisbane has heard almost two weeks of evidence. During the trial, the court was told the victim, who lived in a Brisbane youth hostel, had been drinking with the accused at Roughan's residence when a fight broke out. P rosecutor Don McKenzie told the court the fight ended with Mr Shepherd being stabbed 133 times and decapitated.

Mr McKenzie told the court that although Mr Roughan and Mr Jones had sought to blame each other for Mr Shepherd's death, both men were allegedly involved. Police found a tomahawk, knife, handsaw and pruning saw stained with the victim's blood in Mr Roughan's shed, as well as blood-stained clothing featuring Mr Jones's DNA. It is also alleged the accused used Mr Shepherd's head as a bowling ball and a puppet before burying his body in a shallow grave at Dayboro, northwest of Brisbane.

Quadriplegic and his caregiver charged with rape and incest of three children.

Click HERE to read the story from The Shreveport Times.

An Arcadia man who is paralyzed from the neck down and his caregiver were jailed this afternoon in connection with the rape and incest of three children, Bienville Sheriff John Ballance said. Bienville sheriff’s investigators have charged Michael Lee Smudricks, 57, with one count of aggravated rape and three counts of aggravated incest.

His caregiver, Lynn Swan West, who turns 59 Thursday, also of Arcadia, is charged with one count of principal to aggravated rape and three counts of principal to aggravated incest. The alleged assault involves children under the age of 15.

Arrest warrants for Smudricks were signed March 5, but authorities could not pick him up until today after seeking the state’s help in locating a jail or prison that could house him. Smudricks became a quadriplegic as the result car accident that happened about five or six years ago, Ballance said. Efforts were made to locate a facility in the area or even a war veterans home in which to detain Smudricks, who is a war veteran, during pretrial proceedings. Ballance even tried Fortch Wade Correctional Center in Keithville, which houses geriatric inmates. “But they couldn’t take him presentence,” the sheriff said.

State Corrections Secretary Richard assisted by approving a bed for Smudricks in the hospital ward at Louisiana State Penitentiary in Angola. Smudricks will be transported there today by ambulance.“He can get out if he can make a $800,000 bond,” Ballance said.

West’s bond is set at $175,000.The children went to West, who lived in Smudricks’ residence, to tell her about the alleged sexual abuse. “But she never reported it,” Ballance said.

Christopher G. Griffin

Rapes a 9 year old boy and taunts the child's mother when he saw her months later.

Click HERE to read the story from wftv.com.

A man is being charged with raping a 9-year-old boy who was trying to sell him magazine subscriptions and taunting the boy's mother when he saw her months later.

Christopher G. Griffin, 32, was charged Tuesday with capital sexual battery and tampering with a witness.

The boy was selling magazine subscriptions for a school fundraiser when Griffin invited the boy into his home in January and then sodomized him, according to a St. Johns County Sheriff's Office report. The boy said his attacker then filled out a subscription form, gave him money and told him not to tell anyone about the attack. Authorities interviewed Griffin about the attack and told him not to contact the boy or his mother, the report said.

The boy's mother told authorities that Griffin stopped next to her at a stop sign on March 20 and blew her a kiss and laughed at her, according to the report.
